Serial killer. These words conjure up images in our minds. Some see the sinister villain Jack the Ripper
roaming Victorian Whitechapel. For some the vision is of Hanibal Lector consuming parts of his victims.
Others will recall the terror created by The Hillside Stranglers. No matter what vignette plays itself out in our minds the sights and sounds are much the same, dark and gruesome.
Some unsolved cases
The Green River Killer- So called for one of his dumping grounds, the Green River. The killer or killers roamed Seattle, Washington in the early 1980s leaving terror in his wake. Most of the victims were prostitutes. The bodies were located in and around Seattle and its suburbs, and in the Portland, Oregon suburbs of Tualitin and Tigard. The number of victims vary widely depending on who's telling the story.
The Zodiac- The unknown stalker who claimed at least 7 victims during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Zodiac wrote more than 25 letters to members of the press. Some believe he still lurks, and still kills.
